QGIS Plugin Reference
This guide describes the options available in the Qgis2OnlineMap QGIS plugin, structured identically to the plugin's tab-based interface.
1. Projects Tab
The primary view where you can see all maps currently hosted on your account.
A table displaying your projects. The Online column shows a green 🟢 or red 🔴 indicator, representing the live status of the map as configured in your dashboard.
Syncs the local table with your online dashboard. Use this if you've recently uploaded a map or changed settings in your browser.
Instantly opens your main Web Dashboard in your default browser for advanced project administration.
Each row in the table provides three quick-access buttons:
- 👁️ View: Opens the live URL of that specific map in your browser.
- 🔗 Copy: Copies the public viewer link to your clipboard.
- 🔄 Update: Allows you to select a new folder or zip to overwrite the existing map files while keeping the same URL.
2. Publish Map Tab
The interface for sending new QGIS exports to the cloud.
Choose between Folder (pointing to the raw directory generated by your export plugin) or Zip Archive (if you have already compressed your files).
The Map Title field is the display name of your project. The plugin will attempt to auto-populate this based on your folder name, but you can override it here.
The large dashed area is interactive. You can drag a folder or a .zip file directly from your computer's file explorer into this zone to instantly select it for publishing.
The final step. Clicking this will zip your files (if a folder was selected) and perform a secure background upload. A progress modal will appear to track the transfer.
3. Settings Tab
Utility and authentication configurations for the plugin.
The secure way to connect your QGIS instance to your account. It opens a browser window where you authenticate; once done, a secure access key is automatically sent back to the plugin.
Displays your current connection status. The Logout button clears the stored access keys from your QGIS settings, ensuring no one can upload from your machine without re-authenticating.
Includes a Use custom theme checkbox. When checked, the plugin uses the Qgis2OnlineMap color palette and modern UI widgets. Uncheck it if you prefer the standard, native look of your operating system's QGIS environment.
